Me Descreveria Como
I love my job of teaching. My students say I am funny, but I think it is just because I like to make learning fun.
To me, life is short. It definitely is one of the best gifts from God. It is like a delicate dance between me and those I meet. One word, one look can often heal a wound or boast another's self esteem or create a huge gulf. As Hamlet said, "Words, words, words." Words are powerful. They have caused wars, but they can also be used as a healing balm. That is the kind of teacher I want to be. Often I am the only positive adult in my students' lives.
Personal relationships. The most important relationship for me is the one I have with Jesus Christ. I have been through some very difficult circumstances in my life and I know that my Redeemer lives. He is not floating around on a cloud, but He is very real. God must be the center of any dating or marriage relationship. If two people can't pray together and discuss scripture openly, perhaps there is a deeper problem.
In all relationships, but especially intimate relationships, I believe it is important for two people to be open with each other. Trust is very special. When one person or the other hides a little bit here and the other hides a little, too, trust becomes weak and the union's foundation begins to wobble. That is not healthy. So, from the beginning I think an openness, discussing heartfelt ideas, are important.
I have four grown children and seven wonderful grandchildren--five boys and two girls. They are very precious. I want to be the best grandmother in the world!
I don't want to teach forever. I look forward to the day when I can retire and hang up my red pens. I don't think I will ever just sit. But if I retire, I will have more opportunities to do other things that I love like travel, garden, write, cook, visit family and friends.
I also enjoy decorating my home for the different seasons and I would have more time to make those crafts. I would also be able to attend more plays and more concerts.
I'm usually in a good mood and enjoy funny stories; however there are things take very seriously. I take my faith seriously. I take relationships, friendships, and family seriously. I take the political and economic situation in our country and around the world seriously. I take world hunger and even hunger in the USA seriously. As John Donne aid, "No man is an island unto himself." We are all involved in humankind whether we recognize it or not.
Well, I think that is enough about me.

Para mim, Diversão É
When I think of fun it can be any new adventure, but something I like to do, it would have to be walking, hiking, or taking a trip. It could be a quiet evening at home with a home-cooked meal, soft music, candlelight, and good conversation. It could be talking about anything and everything to all hours of the morning. It could be my grandkids or playing ball with my dogs. Fun can also be having a white chocolate mocha with rasphberry at Starbucks while reading a book or visiting with friends.

O Que Você Procura?
In a man I look for someone who is intelligent, yet tolerant of those who are not. I have know men who are very bright, but then they proceed to make fun of those who they perceive to be less intelligent. I call that arrogance. I also like the characteristic of empathy and compassion. There are many who suffer today and the last thing anyone needs is a cold person. I also would like someone who is at least as thoughtful as I will try to be. And finally, the perfect person for me will make me laugh.
